Strategic Benchmarking for Value

Strategic Benchmarking for Value (or SBV) is an analytical process and management tool, the purpose of which is to enable business owners and leaders to manage and grow business value. The SBV model is designed to aid owners and leaders in aligning business planning and operational execution by identifying the role of three key elements of a business, strategy, systems, and people, and managing these three elements synchronously. SBV provides a systematic way of planning and monitoring a successful business strategy with the necessary systems and people infrastructures to execute it.

The SBV model asserts the assumption that value creation is a holistic endeavor that requires:

  • A consistent approach to management planning, resource allocation, performance assessment, and communication
  • A management focus on and priority of value creation
  • Alignment of management action with strategic objectives and shareholder value
  • Strategic benchmarking to monitor the value creation process

SBV is a powerful, but simple model: it recognizes that different people in an organization make, at different times, different sets of business decisions. The SBV alignment process emphasizes that the decisions need to be coordinated to achieve maximum value.

We invite you to avail yourself of the resources SBV provides. Some information and tools are only available to registered users of the SBV Network (free registration). Naturally, our advanced Internet based consulting and analysis tools are available only to members of the Network.

If you are a business owner or leader, we provide you here more detailed information on the SBV model, some basic measurement tools and background documentation, and access to members of the Strategic Benchmarking for Value Network, who can help you align planning and execution, and measure and create value.
